50/50 show, again!

Heard the good news yesterday that I was juried in to the 12th Annual 50/50 Show at the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. The juror this year is Patricia Sweetow. Dates for the show will be announced as the summer progresses and we know more about necessary distancing. The idea is to create 50 6″ x 6″ pieces in 50 days! This will be a lot of fun, and a lot of work. My theme: Social Distancing in the Time of the Corona Virus. I will be doing collages of my dishes as metaphors for human relationships. Here is an example of what I plan to do :

And here is an image of my complete 50 works when I was in this show 3 years ago, with Jack Fischer the juror:

Working on this painting of our friend Madeleine who is picking blackberries in our orchard.  I am liking it at this point and hoping I can keep this energy in the final product.  We will see!

On The Road

9/27/15  Watercolor and pencil sketch form the porch at Olana.  Frederick Church built this elaborate mansion with an extraordinary view of the Hudson River.  The house is surrounded by hills and ponds that were once a working farm.

Sold!

Here I am putting the third varnish on “Happy To Serve”.  And now it is on its way to serving someone else.  It is going to a very good home and I am delighted to sell it to A.S.  There are still lots more paintings available at Lauren’s in Boonville.  And…I will give 10% off to any resident of Anderson Valley until the end of the show (October 15).  Don’t hesitate!

Two paintings now hanging at Berkeley City Hall until Spring in 2016.  Felt good to see my work “holding it down” in the Downtown!
